Are you frustrated when students blindly copy notes of the board without taking any of it?
When you ask them even the simplest of questions about it they can’t answer. Weeks later they don’t even remember having covered the topic at all. Or, just as bad, they have focused on something that is not important. Frustrating isn’t it!
This 12-page notebook forces them to think as they have to write their own notes but at the same time gives structure to ensure their notes are focused and relevant to the specification.

Powerpoint and 5 activities on nervous system structure and nerve impulses for level 3 students. The lesson is designed for a 3 hour lesson. The lesson was devised for BTEC level 3 applied science unit 9 Human Regulation and Reproduction but would be useful for other units and awards such as A level biology.
This anatomy and physiology game is aimed at BTEC level 3 Nationals in Health and Social Care unit 3 to aid revision prior to the exam. It consists of a board game with 400 questions which cover every aspect of the unit. The questions come as question cards with the question on one side and the answer on the other (you will need to print it double sided for this to work). The question cards can be used as part of a game with 2-6 players or they could be used as flashcards for just one student to test themselves. In addition, the questions are also available with question next to answer so they can be used to generate smaller anatomy and physiology practice games. Two different game boards have been included.
Nervous system catchphrase for BTEC level 3 health and social care unit 3: Anatomy and Physiology
Make learning fun by using this revision game incorporating 20 questions on nervous system structure and function. Students enjoy playing catchphrase and are familiar with the rules of the game. Students can work in teams to earn points by answering questions correctly. You can allocate one point per correct answer and three points for guessing what the picture is showing. This will ensure students answer all the questions rather than the game being over as soon as the picture has been guessed correctly. Teams can win on points even if they do not guess the picture. The picture also ensures that students can identify structures from pictures which is a key skill in the exam. The game allows number tile to be reset if a student does not answer a question correctly. The same question can then be answered by other students later.
This resource includes:
• A PowerPoint including the picture slide which will be gradually uncovered as students answer questions correctly. Each number tile is a link to a specific question.
• A PDF answer sheet
The game is designed to be played at the end of the topic and will take about 15 minutes to complete.
If you like this game, why not try the Anatomy and Physiology revision game bundle which includes different games for each main topic of the unit.
